Latest Fishing Reports
06/27/08:
Hit Bold Pt at 5:30 am to snag some bait and check for bass. Tide was outgoing. We live lined pogies while snagging. We filled the live well with a few dozen pogies and left the river since we hadn't gotten a single hit. We fished between Popasquash Pt and Hog Island with the small fleet there in about 20'-25' of water. We caught one 33" striper on a chunk 3 wayed on the bottom. It seemed the guys catching all the fish were yo-yoing. We left the area and headed west across the channel at the southern end of Potters Cove. We were marking lots of big fish deep. About 5 minutes later a big school of blues came up all around us. All baits were taken. We rigged plugs real quick and played with the blues for a while. We headed back to Popasquash with no luck. Checked Ohio Ledge. The entire southern third was teaming with big blues to 12 lbs that were easily taken on chunks 3 wayed. On the way back north we checked Barrington Beach area for fish, nothing. Tried the river since it was an incoming tide with no bass hits and a couple of blues. We pulled out around 12:30 pm.
Water temp at Popasquash was 68F.
Ohio ledge and Barrington Beach was 70F.
River at the LNG tank was 69.3F.
